Easy
A small fishing boat on a small river surrounded by fields, wind turbines in the background

Embark on a nine-day journey through northern Germany, where the enchanting coastlines and the serene rivers Elbe and Weser will captivate you. The Hanseatic League significantly influenced the economic and political landscape of Northern Europe, and its legacy is evident in cities like Bremen and Cuxhaven. You'll discover charming old towns and intriguing harbors, interspersed with peaceful natural settings, inviting orchards, stunning coastlines, the Wadden Sea, and the mesmerizing rhythms of the tides.

Stroll through the enchanting Schnoor district before leaving Bremen and embarking on the first stage of the Weser Cycle Path towards Elsfleth. The atmosphere becomes increasingly maritime, especially when you take the ferry to Bremerhaven after a few kilometers of cycling. On day four, ride along the Wurster North Sea coast to Cuxhaven, enjoying stunning views of the North Sea along the way.

One attraction follows another: in the hinterland, the spa town of Bad Bederkesa offers a relaxing afternoon in the thermal baths. In Stade, you can admire the Hanseatic architecture, especially in the old harbor. On day seven, you'll be accompanied by fruit trees and farms as you cycle to Buxtehude. Finally, you'll return to Bremen via Hollenstedt and Zeven on first-class cycle paths.

  • A selfie with the Town Musicians of Bremen: In Bremen, visitors can admire the famous Bremen Town Hall and the Roland statue that adorns the market square. Explore the historic Schnoor district, with its winding alleyways and charming cafés. A true insider tip is the Bürgerpark, a green oasis in the heart of the city. And there's one thing you must not miss: a visit to see, and hear the city's most famous musicians.
  • Cultural enjoyment in the artists' village of Worpswede: On your final stage, you'll encounter a very special attraction: Worpswede, an artists' collective. Founded at the end of the 19th century, this village became home to a group of artists, including painters, writers, and musicians.
  • Dunes and beaches at Cuxhaven: On your way to the Hanseatic city, cycle through dune landscapes and pause to admire the beauty of the sea. In Cuxhaven, explore the World Shipping Route and the old fishing port. Stroll along the green beach and visit the unique wreck and fishing museum. You can also visit the island of Neuwerk, accessible via the mudflats at low tide.

Ideal for both seasoned cyclists and beginners alike, this loop tour through the Hanseatic region covers a maximum of 60 kilometers per day. The routes are flat and easy to manage. This wonderfully varied bike tour introduces you to cities, culture, nature, and, of course, the delights of Nordic cuisine.

Flat landscapes, romantic heaths, the sea, maritime port cities, and fishing villages: A cycling vacation in Northern Germany is the stuff dreams are made of. Indulge in culinary delights like kale, Labskaus, and Knipp - so pack your bags, the North is calling!
