Cycling couple on a cycle path between meadows and small haystacks with a panoramic view of the Zugspitze mountain

On this beautiful journey starting from the Bavarian capital over the Resia Pass to Lake Garda, you will enjoy crossing the Alps. Wonderful views accompany you on the way along Lake Starnberg. The historical Lüftlmalerei on the house facades in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald will inspire you. You will be amazed by the views of the Zugspitze, Karwendel and Ortler. And a smile on your face will be conjured up by the superbly developed cycle path in South Tyrol and, to crown it all, the descent to Lake Garda. So diverse can be a crossing of the Alps.

"Griasdi Minga!" – You kick off your cycling vacation in the Bavarian capital, where you gather strength for the days ahead with Kasspatzn, roast pork, and Obatzten. Also, indulge in tasting the local beer varieties before the first stage takes you to Lake Starnberg. Following a restful night in Murnau am Staffelsee, you pedal to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with its beautiful historic cityscape and onward to Mittenwald.

The Leutasch Gorge takes you across the border into Austria, leading you through the picturesque Inntal valley. Near the Reschen Pass, you briefly cross the Swiss border and continue cycling into South Tyrol. Castles, palaces, vineyards, and orchards line the route to Trento. Your tour concludes at Lake Garda – there, you toast with a glass of local wine and treat yourself to a hearty plate of pasta..

  • The Lüftlmalerei in Mittenwald: The tranquil town is considered one of the centers of this traditional art form. In this process, facades are adorned with elaborate paintings. The colorful sequences almost appear as if they are from a storybook. The best way to appreciate these artworks is by taking a stroll through the village.
  • The picturesque city center of Merano: The mountain panoramas in close proximity and the delightful old town give the city in South Tyrol a truly special charm. A visit to the gardens of Trauttmannsdorff Castle is just as recommended as a leisurely stroll along the spa promenade. Get to know the wonderful corners of the city.
  • The glistening Lake Garda: The numerous villas along the shore exude sophistication, while in the lake, water sports enthusiasts can enjoy themselves. Join them and take a refreshing dip in the cool waters. Picturesque villages line the famous body of water, including Sirmione, Riva, and Torbole. For those who haven't had their fill of sporting activities, you can embark on an ascent to Monte Baldo – the highest point around Lake Garda.

During the six stages of this cycling vacation, you will cover a total distance of approximately 500 kilometers. Our sporty cycling tours are specifically designed for trained cyclists who enjoy the challenge of longer stages and uphill climbs. The excellently developed cycling paths and the breathtaking panoramas of various mountain ranges make the physical activity more enjoyable. As with all Eurobike tours, our team takes care of your luggage, transporting it daily to the next accommodation.

Browse through the Eurobike portfolio in search of inspiration for your next cycling vacation. Germany is considered an absolute travel classic, but we have also put together fantastic route options for you in Italy and Austria.
