Red houses with blue shutters and gables next to a cycle path of the village Rusne

A truly special cycling tour awaits you on the Baltic coast of Lithuania. Unbridled natural beauty combines with sporting pleasures, culinary delights, and above all, a wonderful tranquility that invites you to truly relax. Starting from the vibrant city of Klaipėda, you’ll cycle through the Memel Delta to the Curonian Spit National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its pine forests, sand dunes, and fishing villages. A boat excursion adds variety to the cycling stages, and throughout this tour, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views.

After your arrival and a first night in the charming coastal town of Klaipėda, your cycling adventure begins with a visit to Palanga. Along the Baltic Sea, you'll pass through fishing villages and walk the pier for an uninterrupted seaside experience. The next day, your journey continues inland through Sveksna to Šilutė. On Day 4, you can choose your own activities, though an excursion to the island of Rusnė is highly recommended. The wild beauty of nature and the picturesque lighthouses will leave a lasting impression.

The next destination is Nida. After your cycling route, you'll be able to enjoy a boat crossing from Vente across the Curonian Lagoon. Following a restful night, you’ll have another day at your leisure. The Baltic Sea beaches and dune landscapes are as appealing as the maritime center of Nida. On the Curonian Spit coastal bike path, you’ll pass the Hill of Witches and the Golden Beach before taking the ferry back to Klaipėda from Smiltynė.

  • The vibrant cultural scene in Klaipėda: The lively atmosphere of this port city is infectious. Its streets, alleys, and restaurants offer a delightful setting for enjoyment. Given its proximity to the Curonian Spit, you'll encounter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, often drawn to attractions like the marine museum complex with its dolphinarium.
  • The impressive amber museum in Palanga: The museum is located in the magnificent former Tyszkiewicz Palace, which was built in the 19th century. During your visit, you'll also find a beautiful botanical garden. It houses an impressive collection of over 30,000 pieces of amber, about 15,000 of which are displayed in various exhibits.
  • Water sports in the national park: The Curonian Spit offers a variety of water sports that are particularly attractive due to its unique geographic location between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. Whether it's kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, why not give it a go!

Not only is the Memel Region significant for its landscapes, but it also has historical importance. Many fascinating sites and, of course, impressive natural beauties will reveal themselves during the stages, which can be up to 60 kilometers long. Overall, these stages are easy to manage, and riding along the Lithuanian Coastal Cycle Route is particularly enjoyable.

Primeval landscapes, endless expanses, and yet excellently developed bike paths and charming small towns with vibrant cultural life—join us on a cycling tour of the Baltic States!
