Our projects

Sustainability is a core value across all areas of our work. A key focus is the responsible use of materials, with recycling playing a central role — whether in our daily office operations in Obertrum or in enhancing the sustainability of your travels.

Recycling in our daily office operations

In our Obertrum office, recycling and reuse are top priorities. We are dedicated to reducing plastic whenever possible, choosing glass bottles and reusable containers for all employee products and food. Following the introduction of Austria’s new deposit recycling system, our team members can now return cans and refillable bottles directly at our office, with all proceeds benefiting a good cause.

Whether it's using rainwater for our raised garden bed, reusing cardboard boxes, our Too Good To Go station, or the Eurofun Marketplace, where leftover food and discarded items find new owners— we integrate a wide range of initiatives into our daily office operations to actively contribute to sustainability.

Recycling of bicycle inner-tubes

We also ensure that we use our resources as efficiently as possible during your cycle holiday — to this end, we have collected the discarded inner tubes from our bikes that accumulate during and after the season and recycled them in collaboration with the company Schwalbe.

The recycling process takes place directly at the Schwalbe factory, where the material is repurposed in the production of new inner tubes using a special process that preserves the quality. In this way, around 100 bicycle inner tubes have been returned to a sustainable cycle — an important contribution to resource conservation.

Our contribution to you

Reusing Felt Folders

Our felt folders are not only stylish, but also durable. If you still have a felt folder at home from your last Eurobike adventure, we would like to encourage you to reuse it on your next active vacation. If you happen to forget it, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered!

If you don’t need a new folder, you can opt for a sustainable envelope at select stations before your first stage or simply return the felt folder after your journey. We’ll be happy to remind you of this option during our on-site information sessions.

All the details about our travel documents are available in the provided information.

Digital Travel documents

To reduce paper consumption and the associated CO2 emissions, we've come up with a solution for our travel documents as well. By opting for digital documents, you not only benefit from our sustainability discount of €20 per room but will also find city maps exclusively in our app — another step toward a more resource-efficient approach.

For all our Original Tours, you can conveniently access the Eurobike on Tour app on your smartphone. The app also offers tips for eco-friendly travel — from the quality of drinking water at your destination to respecting nature — helping you travel in a more sustainable way.

From our team

Sustainable equipment

Sustainable partnerships with long-standing and trusted partners are important to us. When it comes to the production and use of sportswear or equipment for our employees, we place the highest value on quality and sustainable manufacturing processes.

We’ve been working with our long-time partner VAUDE. Would you like to know how our colourful pannier bags are made and how leftover materials are recycled?

We’re also proud of our new partnership with Geschützte Werkstätten — Integrative Betriebe Salzburg, which focuses on quality in producing sportswear for our employees.

Our path to certification

Having fulfilled over 200 requirements, we are now in the final stretch toward Travelife certification. We are currently awaiting the on-site verification by Travelife – more updates will follow shortly!

Sustainability at our stations

The season start is just around the corner, and we’re already excited! Our external station teams have also been hard at work preparing for the new season. During the Training Days, we facilitate continuous knowledge transfer to the teams on all topics – including, of course, on-site sustainability.
