A cycling tour through green Styria

Michael’s destination was Styria. Together with a good friend from his school days, he embarked on an exciting seven-day journey through the green heart of Austria along the Mur Cycling Path. The first day began with a touch of morning mist, which quickly cleared, offering unobstructed views of the stunning natural scenery. The Mur River gently flowed alongside the path, a constant companion throughout the tour, all the way to the final destination in Bad Radkersburg at the Austrian-Slovenian border.

“An exhausting yet eventful week is behind us. The Mur Cycling Path offers pure nature, charming towns, and the vibrant city of Graz. Along the way, there are plenty of little highlights that make this bike tour truly worthwhile. For us, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and activity, with Graz and Murau being the standout moments.”

Lake Garda is calling!

Italy isn’t just one of the most popular travel destinations in general—it’s also a top favorite among us!

Vanessa traveled to Lake Garda with her mother, choosing the ‘Around Lake Garda’ tour. Filled with enthusiasm and blessed with perfect summer weather, the two stepped off the train in Desenzano, eager to explore the region by bike over the next seven days. Vanessa was not disappointed, but read for yourself:

“The ‘Around Lake Garda’ bike tour is a fantastic way to explore the countryside surrounding Lake Garda while still enjoying proximity to the lake through the overnight stays. After a long day of cycling, it’s the perfect chance to take a refreshing dip and indulge in Italian cuisine. The unique atmosphere of the various towns around Lake Garda and the stunning variety of landscapes made our tour truly special.”

Lilly cycles from Bolzano to Venice

Lilly, another colleague and a big fan of Italy, chose the bike tour from Bolzano to Venice. She was joined by her father for the adventure. After just a few hours on the train, they arrived in Bolzano, the starting point of their journey. Following a stroll through the city, they headed to the Eurobike station to pick up their rental bikes. Seven exciting days awaited them, with highlights including Padua and Venice.

“We collected many amazing impressions during the days of our tour, but one city particularly captivated me. Padua, with the majestic Basilica di Sant'Antonio and the enchanting Prato della Valle park, is one of the most beautiful places of this bike tour. (...) After a short break, we took the 'Waterbus' to the famous Piazza San Marco. Numerous gondolas, historic facades, and landmarks like the Rialto Bridge make the ride along the Grand Canal an unforgettable experience. The perfect conclusion to an eventful and beautiful cycling tour!”

Savoir vivre along the Loire

Julia chose France for her journey. The start of her 8-day cycling adventure along the Loire couldn’t have been better, as they arrived in Tours to perfect weather. With sunshine and a clear blue sky, they set off on the first day of cycling, and with each passing kilometer, they got a little closer to their destination in Saint-Nazaire on the Atlantic coast.

“We would do the tour again anytime! The bike path is very well developed and, most importantly, clearly marked. The Loire Valley will stay with us forever, with its beautiful landscapes, mighty river currents, impressive castles, and charming villages. The region is incredibly diverse, not just in terms of the landscape, but also the culinary experiences. If I had to describe the trip in one word, it would be 'pleasure cycling.'”

Cycling through the Burgenland vineyards in golden autumn

Why travel far when something great is so close, thought Marcus, and chose the Neusiedlersee loop tour for his travel review. He was joined by his father. Before cycling through the idyllic steppe landscapes of the Pannonian Plain, they first soaked up the city vibes in Vienna, with a visit to the Prater and the city center. The journey begins in Austria's capital and then heads south.

The Lake Neusiedl tour - a perfect cycling tour for newbies. Thanks to its flat terrain, it's accessible even without electric assistance for all types of cyclists—though an e-bike provides extra comfort. I highly recommend this tour for wine lovers. You'll enjoy a city tour in either Vienna or Bratislava, stunning steppe landscapes, and picturesque vineyards—there’s plenty of variety. And if you cycle in September, you'll have the chance to experience the grape harvest up close!

Along the wild west coast of Portugal

Portugal has long been a favorite destination for cycling enthusiasts, and it hasn't lost any of its charm. The country captivates with its exceptional landscapes, vibrant cities, and excellent cuisine. This was reason enough for Julia to cycle along Portugal's west coast from Lisbon to Sagres.

The journey starts in the Portuguese capital. Here, you can best explore the many charming alleyways of the old town, visit one of the typical local restaurants, enjoy the breathtaking views over the city from the Castelo de São Jorge, or immerse yourself in the rich maritime history of the nation at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos in Belém.

"This bike tour in Portugal is a wonderful experience for anyone who wants to discover breathtaking landscapes, picturesque coastal roads, and the beauty of the country in a unique way."

A tip from Julia: Remember to prepare for changing road conditions and hilly terrain when planning a cycling tour in Portugal. The weather along the coast can also vary, so make sure to pack appropriate clothing.
