Lake Constance stands out as a premier destination for cycling enthusiasts. Nestled within the renowned tri-border region connecting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, this area boasts exceptional cycling routes offering breathtaking views. As the largest inland body of water in Germany, Lake Constance serves as a haven for nature enthusiasts and those seeking tranquility. Embarking on your cycling adventure, you'll immerse yourself in the region's highlights and absorb the cultural influences of the neighboring countries. Discover medieval town centers adorned with intricate frescoes and baroque churches. Navigate through picturesque vineyards along the route and be enticed to indulge in leisurely picnics with a backdrop of Lake Constance. Whether pondering the sun-dappled water or gazing at the Alps' silhouette, you're free to let your thoughts wander. The Lake Constance Highlights bike tour promises pure relaxation.

Starting from Konstanz, the route follows the southern shore of Lake Constance to Stein am Rhein, then continues to Wangen and Hemmenhofen. The next day, you'll circumnavigate the Höri Peninsula before heading to the spa town of Radolfzell and then on to Überlingen. The cycling tour continues from there to Friedrichshafen and Meersburg, eventually reaching Lindau. The journey proceeds through the festival city of Bregenz and Horn before returning to Konstanz.

  • Constance: The picturesque old town invites you to take a leisurely stroll before visiting Mainau Island. You can admire the colorful underwater world at Sea Life or explore the Archaeological Museum.
  • Höri Peninsula: On this 45-square-kilometer peninsula, the painter Otto Dix and the writer Hermann Hesse once lived. It remains an inspiring place to this day.
  • Friedrichshafen: The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, opened in 1996, showcases approximately 1500 original exhibits that illustrate the history and technology of airship travel. A notable feature is the reconstruction of a section of the legendary Hindenburg.
  • Bregenz: In the capital of Vorarlberg, the Bregenz Festival takes place every year. During this time, the largest lake stage in the world shines in full splendor.

This cycling tour is well-suited for families. While the initial segments might include some gentle hills, the terrain becomes predominantly flat later on. The cycling routes are mostly paved and well-kept, with only a few unpaved sections. In Friedrichshafen, the bike runs alongside the federal highway. Apart from that, you'll predominantly ride along the stunning shores of Lake Constance, where the shoreline is mostly publicly accessible ensuring a delightful cycling vacation.
