Alsace is perfect for a cycling holiday! Numerous well-maintained bike paths traverse this French region, renowned for its wine, history, and gastronomy. You’ll visit Strasbourg, a city of international significance, and stop along the way at historical and cultural landmarks. Breathtaking panoramas await you as you cycle up through the vineyards. You can share these experiences in the evening over a winemaker’s snack—life can be so beautiful and simple!

Your cycling vacation begins in beautiful Strasbourg, where you can enjoy French architecture and culinary delights. Heading south, you’ll first ride to Sélestat, a town rich in ancient heritage. Before reaching Colmar, you'll pass the Baroque Abbey of Ebersmunster.

Along the French Wine Route, one picturesque gem after another awaits you: from Colmar, you’ll cycle to Guebwiller, passing through Eguisheim and Kaysersberg on your way to Riquewihr. Historically noteworthy is the Abbey of Andlau, before reaching your final overnight stop in Obernai. As you follow the Bruche Canal, you can enjoy the beauty of nature before returning to Strasbourg, where you’ll bid Alsace ‘Au revoir!’ with a last glass of wine.

  • Culture & architecture in the heart of Europe: Strasbourg enchants with its stunning Notre-Dame Cathedral, picturesque half-timbered houses in "La Petite France," and charming canals. The European capital also offers the Parliamentarium, a variety of museums, and a vibrant old town. A stroll along the Ill River completes the captivating city experience.
  • The Ebersmünster Abbey is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture. The magnificent abbey church from the 18th century is particularly impressive, featuring intricate frescoes, stucco work, and the renowned Baroque organ. Founded in the 7th century, the abbey has a long history as an important religious center. Today, its ornate interiors, regular organ concerts, and picturesque gardens attract many visitors.
  • Delights and history along the French Wine Route: The roughly 170-kilometer-long route, also known as the Route des Vins d'Alsace, offers a wealth of experiences. At the wineries, you can delve into the history of winemaking and sample exquisite wines right at the source. In the villages, you’ll stroll through picturesque streets and dine in local taverns. All the while, the breathtaking landscape, which truly captivates every visitor, awaits in between.

Each day in Alsace, you’ll cover between 25 and 65 kilometers during your stages.
