Exterior view of the MS Olympia

Coblenz – Saarburg, MS Olympia

Beautiful river valleys and vineyards on Moselle and Saar

8 Days / 7 Nights
Easy
Exterior view of the MS Olympia

Aboard the MS Olympia on the Moselle and cycling along the Moselle Cycle Path – for eight days, you’ll gently pedal from Koblenz to Saarburg. The route will charm you with its scenic Moselle loops and serene vineyards. On your floating hotel, you can relax and savor every moment, while the wine taverns and cozy villages along the way invite you to experience their warm hospitality and local delights.

In Koblenz, you'll be introduced to the MS Olympia, your home for the next seven nights. Your first destination is Cochem, with its charming historic center and the impressive Reichsburg. The following day is all about Moselle wines, as you pass by Europe's steepest vineyard and the renowned “Zeller Schwarze Katz” wine-growing region. Sample the fine wines before continuing the route from Zell an der Mosel, through Traben-Trarbach, and on to Bernkastel-Kues.

On Day 5, you'll follow in the footsteps of the Romans in Piesport and Neumagen-Dhron. Day 6 brings you to Trier, Germany's oldest city and a true highlight of your journey. For the final leg, you’ll head to the Saar, with a detour to Waterbillig for a taste of Luxembourg. Saarburg is a charming town with canals and fisher cottages – the perfect way to conclude your cycling and cruising adventure.

  • The historic old town of Cochem: The old town enchants with its narrow, cobbled streets, charming half-timbered houses, and picturesque squares like the marketplace, featuring the baroque Martinsbrunnen. The Reichsburg, dating back to the 11th century, offers not only fascinating glimpses into history but also breathtaking views of the Moselle Valley.
  • Wine tastings in the Moselle region: The wine regions along the Moselle are world-renowned for their steep-slope wines, particularly the Riesling, which thrives on the sun-drenched hillsides. The Moselle winds through a picturesque landscape of terraced vineyards and historic wine villages, including Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach, and Zell. The mild climate and mineral-rich slate soils provide the perfect conditions for viticulture.
  • Venetian flair in Saarburg: The city, crisscrossed by canals, is dominated by the medieval Saarburg, from the ruins of which you can enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding area. A highlight is the 20-meter-high waterfall right in the heart of the city, where the water cascades into the Leukbach, once powering the old mills.

The Moselle Cycle Path offers a well-maintained route, with its flat terrain making for a leisurely, enjoyable cycling experience. Each day, you’ll cover between 25 and 50 kilometers, after which you can relax or enjoy a sociable drink onboard. From the lounge, you can take in beautiful views, as well as from the sun deck. Cozy cabins and full-board meals complete the service, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey.

Eurobike's cycling and cruising tours in Germany offer a truly relaxing experience. Ride along stunning river paths and unwind on the sun decks of our comfortable ships.
