View of Lucerne from the lake

Lucerne and its surroundings offer ideal conditions for cycling vacations. The city itself is remarkable with attractions like the Chapel Bridge and its picturesque setting on Lake Lucerne. Well-kept cycle paths follow the lakeshore towards Lake Zug or Heidegg Castle, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains throughout. A visit to Mount Rigi is highly recommended, and the Reuss Valley is dotted with charming villages and castle ruins. Whether enjoying a cheese fondue or engaging in conversation with locals, it's difficult to resist the charm of this region!

Each day, your loop tour begins in Lucerne, leading you along the shores of Lake Lucerne for a delightful journey. In central Switzerland, you'll cycle through the picturesque Emmental Valley and visit Werthenstein Abbey.

On day 4, your destination is the lesser-known Lake Sempach, with a recommended stop in Sursee. The following day, at Lake Lucerne, take the turnoff towards Lake Zug until you reach Immensee. From there, take a boat to Rotkreuz and return to Lucerne through a hiking adventure park. Before concluding your journey, enjoy the beauty of Lake Baldeggersee, but the true highlight of your final tour is Heidegg Castle. Upon returning to Lucerne, unwind and bring your vacation to a leisurely close.

  • The charming old town of Lucerne: Take a leisurely stroll through the charming alleyways and explore the abundance of shops and restaurants. Don't miss crossing the Chapel Bridge to reach the water tower—the view is truly captivating. With the Swiss Alps as its backdrop, the city is a visual delight!
  • A stroll through the rose garden: Heidegg Castle is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved medieval architecture and its charming setting on Lake Baldegg. Dating back to the 13th century, the castle has undergone renovations and expansions over the centuries. The garden boasts numerous varieties of roses in a plethora of colors and shapes—a sensory delight, especially with their enchanting fragrance.
  • Swimming fun in the sparkling Swiss lakes: During this tour, you'll encounter several lakes that are ideal for swimming on hot days. Don't forget to pack a towel and feel free to stop off whenever you please—you might even want to try your hand at a water sport!

With our based-in-one-hotel tours, you'll stay at a single accommodation while embarking on daily loop tours. This setup provides a central "base" from which you can make excursions in all directions. Each day, you'll cover between 50 and 60 kilometers, and the boat excursions on Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug add wonderful variety to the experience.

Switzerland's landscape naturally features constant ups and downs, but at Eurobike, you'll discover cycle tours in Switzerland tailored to cyclists of every level. The charming towns, stunning views, and warm hospitality of the people are definitely worth experiencing!
