Group of cyclists in the centre of Riva del Garda with lake view

Lake Garda is not only the largest lake in Italy, but also the gateway to the ‘Dolce Vita’ for numerous holidaymakers. Trentino, Lombardy and Veneto share the emerald green landscape near the Alps which is a scenic jewel for cyclists. But only a few holidaymakers will experience Lake Garda as you do during a cycling holiday. The scent of cypresses in the nose and the Mediterranean landscape all around you make this trip unique. You don’t have to do without city pearls either - the historic cities of Trento, Verona, Mantova and Brescia ensure that.

Starting from the south of Lake Garda, you get to know the region a little better every day. On the daily cycle tours, you will be rewarded with impressive views of the Lake, but the surrounding area can also be seen – and tasted! Taste your way through the specialities of the region, especially fresh fish, and do not miss out on a special wine accompaniment. In Lugano and Custozza, wine is grown directly on Lake Garda!

  • Stories of Romeo & Juliet: In the city of Romeo & Juliet, Verona, you will encounter the traces of the most famous lovers in the world. Tip: cycle around the arena in Verona!
  • Charming 3 and 4-star hotels to choose from: You sleep in selected hotels on the southern edge of Lake Garda, either in the port cities of Sirmione or Desenzano.
  • The hotels can be booked in 3 or 4-star categories – take your pick!

  • By boat across Lake Garda: You can admire Lake Garda in all its glory as you travel from north to south. On the second day of the cycle tour, a boat takes you across the lake from Riva to Sirmione or Desenzano.

The star trip makes cycling holidays with Eurobike very easy. You leave your accommodation in Sirmione or Desenzano every day, gather numerous impressions and return to your hotel full of happy memories. You cycle between 50 and 65 kilometres per day on cycle paths, side roads and sometimes dirt roads.

Itinerary at a glance

You will stay in a charming hotel in Desenzano, from where you can explore the lake - this is particularly enjoyable during the included boat trip. In Verona, you will follow in the footsteps of Romeo and Juliet.

Information on the tour and bike fitting. We recommend taking a stroll through the old town.

The day starts with a transfer by minibus to Trento (old town with cathedral, castle Buonconsiglio). Then, you will follow the river Adige via Rovereto to Mori. From here, you will cycle westwards in the direction of Lake Garda. After a short climb, you will cycle downhill towards the lake in Torbole and further to Riva. From here, a boat will then take you down the entire length of the lake and back to Desenzano.

You will take the train to Verona in the morning. The city of Romeo and Juliet with its Renaissance palaces, the Roman arena, and the many cosy places invites you to stay for a stroll. Over gently rolling hills, past cypress trees and vineyards, the tour will take you back to the southern shore of the lake – for Goethe the lake was “a delicious spectacle”, for the Roman poet Catull “a shining star”.

Beautiful trails will lead you along the river Mincio southwards to Mantova. The thousand-year-old town of the royal Gonzaga family impresses its visitors with its art and beauty. The Castello S. Giorgio and the Palazzo Ducale, the Piazza Sordello with the house of Rigoletto, the cathedral, the Piazza Broletto with the old city hall, the Piazza Erbe with the courthouse palace, the clock tower, the rotunda of San Lorenzo, and the Basilica of St. Andrew are worth seeing. The train will take you back to your hotel.

Today, you will follow lonely roads, through vineyards, peach orchards, and kiwi plantations to Solferino – The place, where Garibaldi united Italy in the famous “Battle of Solferino”. On your way back to Lake Garda, you will cycle through the area where the delicious wines of Lugana are grown.

Today, you will ride your bicycle along the lake shore towards Cavalgese di Riviera and get some unforgettable views of Lake Garda. Then, you will follow the Naviglio Grande Bresciano (canal with bike path) to Brescia – a city of Roman origin with many more places of interest. The train will take you back to Desenzano.
