Hvar Coast in Croatia

The Dalmatian coast is one of the true wonders of Europe, with the clearest waters of the Adriatic and a magnificent historical and cultural heritage. Exploring this special region by bike is by far the most rewarding way to travel. From your arrival in Split to the end point in Dubrovnik, your journey will take you to the beautiful islands of Šolta, Brač, Hvar, Mljet and Korčula, travelling by bike, ferry and catamaran. You cycle through coastal villages, small medieval walled towns and beautiful, quiet pebble bays against a backdrop of pine forests and mountains. The tour ends in the famous city of Dubrovnik, where you can admire the architecture of the old stone city centre.

Your cycling adventure begins in Split, home to a UNESCO-listed historic old town. The city's bustling streets soon fade into the tranquil beauty of the Dalmatian islands. The journey starts with a visit to Šolta, a hidden gem known for its untouched landscapes. On day three, a ferry takes you to Milna on the island of Brač, where a few challenging climbs reward you with breathtaking views.

On the island of Hvar, you'll wander through charming villages, rolling vineyards, and fragrant lavender fields. Your journey continues to the islands of Korčula and Mljet, where breathtaking coastlines, lush forests, and crystal-clear lakes create a paradise of unspoiled beauty. Before your adventure comes to an end, you’ll step into the lively heart of Dubrovnik, a city rich in history and culture.

  • Experience the second largest city in Croatia: At the center of the city lies the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace, a stunning Roman marvel from the 4th century, now bustling with shops, restaurants, and homes. The picturesque old town, adorned with cobblestone streets and historic buildings, beckons visitors to wander and discover its hidden gems. Meanwhile, the vibrant Riva waterfront provides a delightful setting for a leisurely walk or a relaxing evening by the sea.
  • Swimming in secluded coves and savoring local delicacies: Fresh seafood, olives, sun-ripened fruits, fresh vegetables, and local wines are just a taste of the culinary delights that await you. After a day of cycling and refreshing swims in the Adriatic, savor a comforting Peka or a slow-cooked Pašticada, rich in flavor and tradition. Each island enchants with its own charm, from secluded coves to dramatic cliffs, inviting you to dive into the crystal-clear waters.
  • Archaeological Sites and Natural Beauty on Mljet: Mljet National Park, covering the island’s western region, is a haven of unspoiled nature, with secluded bays, dense forests, and two saltwater lakes—the Great and Small Lake—framed by a stunning coastal landscape. Steeped in history, the island is home to remarkable archaeological sites, including the ruins of ancient Roman villas and the serene monastery on the tiny islet of St. Mary in the Small Lake.

Breathtaking natural landscapes, shimmering sea views, secluded coves, and medieval towns await you on your cycling journey through Dalmatia. After covering up to 65 kilometers in a day, refuel with local specialties in the lively island towns and charming villages. Gentle stretches alternate with rolling hills, rewarding you with stunning panoramic views at every turn.

Southern Europe captivates with its Mediterranean charm, stunning natural landscapes, and warm hospitality. In addition to cycling vacations in Croatia, you’ll also find information on Spain, Italy and Greece on our website.
