Grabensee Run 2021 - We were there

On your marks, get set, go!
Cheering Eurobike team at the finish

We had to wait a long time for our first joint sporting team activity after Corona, but last Saturday it finally happened again. At the eighth Grabensee Run in Perwang, we were all able to lace up our running shoes once again and run for a good cause. We travelled to the team event full of motivation and energy.

You can find out what results we were able to achieve and how the entire event went in this blog post. Small spoiler in advance, we are very satisfied with all our efforts and grateful for participating in such a successful event.

EUROBIKE team competition

Since we have a lot of fun at this event every year, we have been sponsoring the Grabensee Run since 2016. Eurobike is a big fan of team activities and that is why we are very proud to have been supporting the EUROBIKE team competition for five years.

This run covers a distance of 4.2 kilometres and women, men and mixed relays, each with three runners, can take part. And since we always like to fight together for and with the team, this year we started the EUROBIKE team competition with two mixed relays. There were also three children's, one short-distance, one fun run, one him & her and one long-distance run.

Our Eurobike-Teams

Our two teams consisted of sport enthusiastic Eurofun employees. The two managing directors Thomas Schmid and Verena Sonnenberg also supported the mixed team. Andreas Schintlmeister, Joscha Koob, Verena Winkler and Julia Winklhofer also ran.

“It was extremely hot and very exhausting, but we were very motivated and gave everything,” reported Eurohike travel specialist Julia Winklhofer. In the end, our two teams finished second and fourth. Despite the heat, everyone pressed the gas and delivered top performances. All participants can be proud of themselves and their running times.

Getting children involved in exercise

As already mentioned above, not only did the adults lace up their running shoes that day, but also the little ones among us. Numerous motivated kids in different age groups took part in the three Grabensee children's runs, which took place before the adult competitions. Watching the kids run also increased our motivation significantly, because they beamed, gave everything and fought their way to the goal with all their might. A great event, especially after the corona lockdowns, to bring the children closer to sport again.

Beer and burger as a reward

After the competitions, delicious and freshly prepared burgers were waiting for all runners, hard-working helpers and loud supporters. And in order to replenish the electrolyte balance, beer was a must. The cosy dinner and the nice conversations among the participants rounded off the successful sporting event. A big thank you goes to the organisers and everyone involved who made this great sporting event possible.

Running for a good cause

There was not only a sporting but also a social intention behind our participation. Because 2021 we again ran for a good cause.

The organisers of the Grabensee Run support the charity ‘Kinderkrebshilfe’ this year and donate one euro for each runner.

Conclusion

Completely satisfied but also exhausted, we left and are happy to be back at the start with our teams at the next Grabensee run.

See you next year!
