An Italian dream – Tuscany’s coast

Martinas Lieblingstour

Our Eurobike cycle tour through Tuscany is packed full of culinary highlights, sighs and picturesque landscapes. Sun, a glass or two of wine and the rhythmic sound of the pedals turning makes my cycling-heart beat faster. Above all I am particularly impressed by the Tuscan coast.

The start of this tour is the Piazza die Miracoli in Pisa. The route travels almost always along the sea, with varied rides through medieval mountain villages rounding off the day's stages perfectly. On the second day the route leads directly on the sandy beach and the Tyrrhenian Sea lures you into the cool water with its natural beaches. The hotels are particularly impressive, the lie at the sea and have a special flair from times gone by.

Further on the nature becomes very beautiful. The impressive and longest cypress avenue in Italy. The wine village of Bolgheri is in the middle of the vineyards and the cycle there leads past vineyards and olive groves as well as shady pine forests. I found the "grand finale" of this cycling tour through Tuscany particularly beautiful. On the last day, you can explore and enjoy the island of Elba.

The boat trip offers unique views of the island and various bathing bays can be easily reached on the cycle path. An absolute dream trip and a very big recommendation from my side. Coastlines of southern Portugal – the Algarve

Petra’s favourite tour

It is no longer a secret why the southern coast of Portugal is so impressive with its beautiful contrasts between idyllic villages and magnificent coastal landscapes. The cycle tour travels from Sagres to Tavira and on the way you can do nothing else than be carried away by the unspoilt nature and the infectious joy for life. The first espresso was in a small café with a breathtaking view over the roofs of the small village of Sagres.

The wind blows across the bays and a special mood full of anticipation spreads. We type "ride to the end of the world" into Eurobike & Eurohike on Tour-App and off we go on the e-bike to admire the stony slopes to arguably the most beautiful places on the coast of Portugal. Thanks to the app, you never have to worry about whether you're still on the right route and it contains all kinds of tips and info on villages in the area as well as restaurant recommendations to discover during your cycle tour.

The cycle path leads along a wild and untouched nature, the white houses with their orange roofs provide a dreamlike contrast to the sea blue, along our route.

One of my highlights are the 200 wooden steps that lead to the bay in Lagos and invite you to linger. A small fishing boat lies and the bay and a nice man on the boat invites us on board. As we approach the rocky cliffs, our breath is almost taken away. The wind whisks quietly around the boat, the waves lap gently against the rocks next to us in the water and above us the rocks in the arch are illuminated with the reflected sunlight. The whole thing feels like a spectacle of nature and is therefore clearly the highlight of the trip, as we cycled to this place under our own power and then surprisingly got to experience the interplay of water, wind and nature in a wonderful way. Via Lagos, Portimao, Albufeira, Faro and Tavira, you finally reach Vila Real de Santo Antonio, near the border to Spain.

This trip is recommended for anyone who wants to really slow down in the Algarve in Portugal and appreciates cosiness and authentic villages. See for yourself: Cycle Tour Algarve, Sagres - Tavira.

South Tyrol flair - from Lake Reschen to Lake Garda

Vanessa´s Favourite tour

A cycling holiday in South Tyrol is an absolute dream destination for many cyclists, my personal favorite tour is the bike tour from Lake Reschen to Lake Garda. This tour leads along the Adige, one of the longest rivers in Italy and enchants with its sunken church tower in the river, which is now a landmark. The bike route continues south, passing beautiful apple orchards and small alleys. Every day we cover between 40 and 50 kilometers, except for the last stage, which is about 90 kilometers, as we skip the Trient stage and cycle directly from Auer to Lake Garda.

In between there are small climbs to master but where it goes uphill, it also goes downhill again at some point. From the Reschensee the route leads us with only a few climbs almost 1,000 meters of altitude downhill. While the pedals are idling, you cycle past gorgeous scenery and experience the South Tyrolean flair up close.

In Bolzano we let ourselves be enchanted by the hustle and bustle of the city and stroll through the small streets. The gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano are also highly recommended. Here, the wonderful gardens extend over more than 2 hectares and offer a view of the surrounding mountains. In the early morning you have the botanical garden almost to yourself, my insider tip for you.

The final stage at Lake Garda offers a successful end of the tour. Here you can add a few more relaxing days after the trip to seek the cool water or indulge in culinary delights such as pizza and pasta.

A wonderful cycle tour that I can recommend to everyone to get to know and discover the beautiful South Tyrol and Lake Garda. This tour is an excellent combination of sporting activity and relaxation. Discover this cycle tour Lake Reschen - Lake Garda.

Explore Austria’s Lakes – Ten Lakes Tour

Christine’s favourite tour

Why travel far when there are such breathtaking lakes in Austria? The Ten Lakes Circular Tour travels through the Salzburg lake district into the beautiful Salzkammergut region and is one of my favourite tours due to its diversity. In addition to the famous sights of the Mozart city of Salzburg, other places such as Hallstatt and Bad Ischl offer a glimpse of Austria's world heritage, where the emperor and his court also enjoyed their summer holidays.

The mountain panorama as well as the Salzburg lakes such as Mondsee, Wolfgangsee, but also many others, offer an insight into the natural jewels of this region and at the same time are a good way to end the cycling stages with a dip in the cool water.

My personal highlight on this tour is the section along the Hallstätter See, on the Ostseeufer cycle path to Bad Goisern. Here you cross a suspension bridge over one of the deepest parts of Lake Hallstatt. But enough rambling, it's best to see for yourself: Ten Lakes Tour.
